If you are interested
in helping with this event, there are several things you can do:

for your consituency.

If you don't want to organize the event, you can still make
a difference! Consider these actions:

Attend
the Prayer Rally! |

Send
out the Action
Alert Email to everyone on your mailing list to let them
know about the Prayer Rally. |

Tell
your local newspapers and TV stations about the Prayer Rally
and direct them to this website for more information. |

Put
up a flyer
on your local community posting boards. |

Contact
your local churches and give them the bulletin inserts for their
congregation (don't forget your church!)

Put
up posters in your area. |

Call
all of your friends / neighbors / family and tell them about
the rally - marriage is a family issue! |

Tell
your pastor / reverend / priest / rabbi about the Prayer Rally
and ask them to participate. |

Contact
Your MP
- Call your MP (Toll Free Number, 1-800 OCANADA). Ask the operator
for the name of your MP (if you don’t know it) and then
ask the operator to put you through to her/his office. If at
all possible, talk to your MP. If you are a leader, you may
want to make an appointment and visit her/him.

Tell
them that you are very upset with how this Marriage issue is
being handled. |

Tell them
you want the Ontario Marriage ‘ruling’ appealed.
Ask them if they will defend the ‘opposite sex’
definition of marriage and if they are willing to use the
‘notwithstanding clause’ of the constitution to
defend marriage? Remind them that Parliament did commit to
“take all necessary steps to defend the definition of
marriage”.

Let
them know that YOU WILL BE WORKING FOR A CANDIDATE THAT SUPPORTS
MARRIAGE IN THE NEXT ELECTION – AND MEAN IT. Do not make
this an idle threat. Decide before hand that you will support
an incumbent or support a candidate based on their position
on marriage. It may only take a few hours of volunteer time
or you may put in a lot more to help elect a good person –
who respects democracy and religious freedom. |
