Prayer Guidelines

If your riding does not have an official Organizer (check the Rally Locations listing to be sure), you may not have an MC or clergy leading prayer at your riding. It is anticipated that due to national media coverage, people will still be going to your MP's office to pray on September 7th at 3:00 pm. We hope that people who meet will pray even if there is not a clergy to lead.

In these cases here are a few guidelines for prayer:

  • The Vote - Pray for God's will to be worked out through the government vote on marriage that marriage will continue to be recognized as a man and woman only.

  • Your MP - Pray that God will work out His will in his/her political actions. Pray God's grace and conviction upon the MPs.

  • Protection of Marriages - Pray that marriage may not only be preserved as heterosexual, one man one woman but that marriages across the nation be strengthened and protected.

  • The Nation of Canada - Pray for repentance as a nation for our apathy and lack of prayer and work to promote marriage as the holy institution it is.

  • Canada's Churches - If the change to the definition of marriage goes through, our churches will soon be under pressure to marry other types of relationships. Pray for strength and courage to stand against these pressures. If marriage is not redefined, churches will still be called upon to defend marriage in the future.
