Marriage Letter to Member of Parliament
(please use as a guide
only and write in your own words):
Dear ____________________, Member of Parliament,
I live in your constituency and am deeply concerned about the
impact upon society, especially children, by the change in the
marriage definition.
I am writing to ask that you deal with this issue again as it
was not addressed properly by Parliament before being passed into
law. This fall, when the question is asked of Parliament, "Do
you want to revisit the marriage issue?" -- I want you to
represent my position: "Yes, I want it revisited".
Since the passing of BillC-38 and defining marriage as any two
people we now have school systems forcing new curriculum and teachings
upon children, which is not only destructive but misleading. Marriage
cannot be two men or two women, homosexual or heterosexual. Natural
law, reason, and common sense support that two men or two women
cannot conjugate a marriage. Research shows that children raised
under the influence and parenting of a mother and father do far
better in every area of life than children raised under the influence
of other forms of relationships. This is not discriminatory; it
is reality.
Also, the new law has now led to multiple persons wanting marriage.
Polygamy is not a healthy or stable form of relationship; nor
is it a committed unit. And now there are women in BC wanting
to marry themselves - why? To receive the benefits reserved for
marriage partners (and to challenge the any two person concept).
What is next ?
The former government destroyed the standard of one man and one
woman and now you must restore that standard. Or you must remove
all reference to marriage from law, since any restrictions would
be discriminatory. Marriage defined as between any two persons
is destructive to the function and uniqueness of the traditional
natural marriage of a man and woman, to families, and to the raising
of children. Can you imagine the confusion a child must feel when
he or she is told they have two mothers or two fathers? They know
that is a lie. Who really are their parents? Sexual issues are
challenging enough for young people without the state/law endorsing
the false notion of marriage between any two same sex people or
multiple persons.
Stop this destruction now - vote to re-visit this issue, and
help repeal C38 and fix this serious social and cultural problem.
Sincerely,
