New Brunswick Election '99 - Survey Questions
  1. Family Definition: Marriage and family law should not be changed to include homosexual couples as "spouses." [Many court decisions and Human Rights Tribunals are threatening the opposite-sex definition of "marriage" and "spouse" and assigning family benefits to non-familial relationships. New Brunswick legislators have the ultimate say on these decisions.]

  2. Education: A voucher or charter school system would give parents better educational choices for their children. [Vouchers give funding to any school that parents choose to send their child to. Charter schools are publicly-funded schools that place special emphasis on a subject such as music, science, sport or religion.]

  3. Adoption and Fostering: It is in the best interest of children and society in which they live to allow only heterosexual couples to adopt children or to act as foster parents.

  4. Gambling: VLTs/Casino-style gambling are unsuitable in New Brunswick cities and communities.

  5. Human Rights Commission: Reforms are needed to restrain the power of the Commission and make it more accountable. [New Brunswickers have been upset by various rulings, such as those forcing Fredericton's mayor to  proclaim "gay pride" days or allow parades in support of activities to which they have a conscientious objection.]

  6. Human Rights Commission: The phrase "sexual orientation" is vague and undefined in the Human Rights Act.  Do you agree that "sexual orientation" should be removed from the New Brunswick Human Rights Act?

  7. Healthcare: Nurses and other medical professionals should not be forced to perform services they object  to for religious or conscience reasons. [Many healthcare workers have been fired in recent years for refusing to engage in activities which violated their most deeply-held beliefs.]

  8. Community Standards: Massage parlors and sex shops should not be allowed in New Brunswick.

  9. Childcare: Subsidies for institutional daycare should go directly to the parents of dependant children so they may freely choose the best available child-care option for their family.

  10. Taxes: New Brunswick tax dollars should not be used to fund abortions at hospitals or private clinics.
