If
you pay taxes this may upset you. How many dollars of
your family budget have you approved to go to producing
movies and TV programs?
You have supported movies with sex and violence. Those
movies sometimes do not even make the theatre.
Telefilm Canada (an arm of Heritage Ministry) and a
lose tax credit policy gives nearly a BILLION dollars
of your money to the "arts" industry to prop
them up annually. They claim it is to help Canadian
arts and culture. And some of those "arts and culture"
groups claim they have a Charter right to your money.
Here are just three examples of movies you paid for:
Young People F.......g, a sex movie, received perhaps
as much as $350,000, maybe more with tax credits. Two
other films "Masturbation" (you can imagine
that content) and "Kissed" (about a woman having
sex with dead bodies), are also recipients of your tax
dollars.
I could say more but I will leave it to you to decide
if that is what you pay taxes for.
The Conservative government is attempting to take steps
to stop this tax abuse (Bill C10) passed Parliament
last November. The film industry is violently opposed
to C10 saying it is "censorship". Yet it does
not prevent any movie from production. CFAC was called
barbarian at the Genie awards for asking that tax money
cease being used for such un-cultural projects. CFAC
has received dozens of hateful and disparaging emails.
Because we dare call for responsible government use
of tax dollars! The Senate had passed the Bill through
first and second reading but now that the media is crying,
they are now caving to the "arts" industry
and threatening to stop or severely alter C10.
I would ask you to sign the petition at the address
below. I would ask you send this to every other taxpayer
you think would want this tax abuse stopped. http://www.gopetition.com/online/17601.html.
