Canada Family Action Coalition points to the "gag" law ruling as yet another restriction of freedom in this non-democracy of Canada. " What an absolute misuse of power and the Charter for the six judges who now claim that there is justification in the Charter to restrict the amount of money a third party can spend during the election. It is dictatorial and reprehensible. Elections are supposed to be about information and ideologies being debated. Not anymore", says Brian Rushfeldt , Executive Director of Canada Family Action Coalition.

The "court jesters" surely do jest. Six PM appointed "high court" judges now misuse the Charter to restrict what people can say at election time by limiting spending. The bells of communism and political dictatorship ring here. You may have elections but "WE" the supreme beings will tell you how much you can spend to say it. What is next? outright restrictions on what Canadians can say, the words they use. And when will this occur, just for the 36 day election cycle or for months before an election.

This foolish ruling, which disagrees with every other judge who has heard this case before, is the very reason the process of political judicial appointments must change. This latest decision is nothing but a political decision. That is a misuse of judicial powers. That is dangerous and that is unacceptable.

This law combined with the new donation law earlier this year guarantee a unduly influenced election. The earlier law limits what you can contribute to a party but then takes your tax dollars and gives over 13 million to the Liberal party. Now we cannot discuss ideas and issues in public anymore. Does this smell? Like draconian dictatorial control of the masses ?

Citizens must react at the polls. This election has just become more about democracy and freedom than ever before. PM Martin said last week this is the most important election in years. He is right, but I am sure he was not referring to the dictatorial removal of Canadian freedoms.

Restrictions on freedoms such as this are not of democracy, they are of dictatorship. They are not of justice but of politics. They are not of our elected but of political appointees.

Time to stop it . The election is here. Is there a party who will put a stop to this abortion of justice?
