Bill
C-13, the Assisted Human Reproduction Act, is one of the
most important pieces of legislation to come before parliament.
The Act addresses two issues: the regulation of human
reproduction procedures and the setting of boundaries
for technologies that use human genes, sex cells, and
embryos for research. This legislation does not promote
principles that respect human life at its most vulnerable
stage- therefore LifeCanada-VieCanada opposes this legislation
as it currently stands. There have been valiant efforts
by pro-life Members of Parliament to propose motions which
will, if passed, drastically improve Bill C-13. We cannot
emphasize enough the importance
of supporting these motions and in particular motions
13 and 17 which are
printed below.
Urgent Action: - We only have a few days!
| 1) |
Please
phone or email your Federal representative and request
that they
vote for the Group #2 motions and especially motions

Please

|

your friends and family to call their Federal representative. |
Get
the word out - we cannot delay!
Blessings,

Important Notice for Church Bulletins - February 9,
2003:
Urgent
Notice Re. Federal Legislation. Should human beings be
killed for medical research? Bill C-13, which MPs may
vote on any day, authorizes scientists to obtain human
embryos from fertility clinics and kill them for stem
cells. LifeCanada-VieCanada asks you to immediately contact
your MP (phone, fax, email) and urge them to (1) support
amendment Motion 17 to ban killing embryos for research;
(2) support Motion 13 to strengthen the bill's ban on
human cloning; (3) oppose C-13 if it continues to promote
the destruction of tiny babies for research. Human beings
are never just raw
material!
