Are YOU Breaking the Law?
How Will You Know?

Bill C415 must not be allowed to proceed through Parliamentary Committee

Bill C415 which IS an attempt to gag any Canadian who opposes homosexual behavior, whether that Canadian is religious or otherwise. You could become a criminal by simply making a statement about your values that disagree with homosexuals. With a criminal record one would have difficulties traveling out of Canada, finding a job, even being respected in your community. A law which refuses to define what it intends to cover is foolishness and dangerous. What constitutes promotion of hate in Bill 415? This is left totally to judges to decide on a case by case process. So how does one know they will break the law ? You likely won’t until there is a complaint and then a charge laid and a conviction made. This is not the justice that Canadians want nor deserve in fact it is not justice at all. This is what happens in dictator states.

ARE YOU prepared to be silenced on such a crucial moral issue as homosexual behavior ? If you are then do nothing , but if you feel you also have rights that allow you to think and speak then you had better read on . Then ACT now . Hold your MP to account. Hold the Liberal government to account, and let us maintain the rule of law and defend the foundational principles in our Charter and Constitution put there by our elected officials (not the ones read in by irresponsible judges.)

Mobilizing opposition to C-415

by Ron Gray

We have a little time in which to gather forces and present a united front against this iniquitous legislation. But the time is very, very short!

I spoke today (Sept. 17, 2002) with the Clerk of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, Mr. Patrice Martin. He told me that C-415 is effectively "dead" because Parliament has prorogued -- BUT, under the new Standing Orders:

"It's at the discretion of the MP -- it's his call -- whether he wants to re-introduce the bill in the House at the same status it had attained (i.e., passed Second Reading, and in Committee). He could choose to re-introduce it in a slightly different form."

Mr. Martin said that if Svend Robinson chooses to re-introduce his bill, it DOES NOT have to be voted on by the House -- it automatically goes to committee.

As he said, "It's his (Robinson's) call."

Committees are not working now, and will be re-organized after the Throne Speech on Sept. 30; they will probably not be active "until about the week of Oct. 21," says Mr. Martin.

At the last session of Parliament, these were the officers of the Committee:
