The campaign of hatred unleashed
against Dr. Laura Schlessinger by the homosexualist movement
has led the pro-family talk show host and councellor to
cancel public engagements over concerns about the physical
safety of her guests. Even needy children are falling
victim to the militant tactics homosexuals are using against
Dr. Laura. One of the events she had to cancel was her
Third Annual 50th Birthday Bash scheduled for April 15th
in Detroit, which is a fund-raiser for the neglected and
abused children served by the Dr. Laura Schlessinger Foundation.
"Unfortunately, children's welfare appears to be
unimportant to those who perceive the cancellation of
the party as some sort of victory," she said.
The FBI has looked into the
matter and has concluded that the security threat against
Dr. Laura is real, says Kraig T. Kitchin, Chief Executive
Officer of Premiere Radio Network, which owns The Dr.
Laura Program. "We have a legitimate fear for her
life." The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation
(GLAAD) is the most high profile organization campaigning
against Dr. Laura today, focusing most of their efforts
at this time to convince Paramount Television to stop
production of her anticipated TV show.
Peter LaBarbera of Americans
for Truth About Homosexuality and editor of CultureFacts
sarcastically commented that "this is the face of
'gay' tolerance." He says that the homosexual perpetrators
"should face everything the law can throw at them
for issuing these threats." GLAAD's protest outside
Paramount's offices was declared a bust by pro-family
sources because it drew only several hundred people, rather
than the thousands anticipated by its organizers.
The campaign against Dr.
Laura has highlighted the tactics of intense intimidation
and threats that gay activists have used for years to
silence critics and move public leaders to support their
social engineering. Dr. Laura, a practicing Orthodox Jew,
is one of the first prominent media figures to refuse
to deny her beliefs and free speech rights in response
to the intimidation.
